Ocean Front Home

Facility:
12 bedroom oceanfront home. Home is primarily used for weekly rentals. Occupancy is typically in excess of 20 people per week during the summer months. Winter holiday occupancy is also very high. Two adjacent homes also have AdvanTex® systems installed.

Site Problem:
Although the lot is very deep towards the ocean, it is only 50 feet wide. The site could only support a 7-8 bedroom home (with no pool) with a low pressure pipe system. In spite of the increased occupancy, pollution is reduced in excess of 90%.

Resolution:
Bissell Professional Group contacted AQWA about helping with the design of the system in the winter of 2004. The system was permitted as a TS-II Treatment System by the State Department of Environment of Natural Resources. The system was installed by Johnson Construction of Wanchese, N.C.

Equipment:

• 4,000 gallon traffic loaded tank placed under the driveway
• Triple AdvanTex AX-20 System
• One 2,000 gallon re-circulation tank
• UV unit (Single Bulb)
• 2,000 gallon pump tank
• 240 linear feet of low pressure pipe drainfield 
• VeriComm® telemetry control panel controls both re-circ and discharge pumps. It is connected to the home phone line.

Results:
Of all the systems in North Carolina, we are most proud of this configuration. These systems are highly abused during the summer. Yet they continue to work beautifully. Not only that, they are also the least expensive treatment system to install and the least expensive treatment system for a homeowner to own on a home of this size.
