Land won't Perc? Denied by Dhec?
"That land is worthless, it won't perc?" Understanding onsite wastewater treatment, dispersal, and permitting can transform a "worthless" piece of land into one of great value.
Solutions to challenging onsite wastewater problems is what we excel in. Read more to get a vision of what dreams may be possible by leveraging today's treatment technology and an understanding of wastewater rules.
AQWA has worked on over 600+ residential applications of Advantex Treatment Technology including subsurface, surface, reuse and direct discharge systems. That means that North and South Carolina's state and local environmental health departments have gotten really comfortable with the Advantex product and permitting obstacles are rarely encountered.
High Value lots - poor soils - maximizing value
There are buildable lots out there that people think are worthless or low value since they can only support a 1 bedroom conventional septic or no conventional septic at all. These are diamonds in the rough. If you have a lot that you love, but aren't sure how to overcome the septic challenge, take heart.
We work with soil scientists and engineers to maximize every inch of usable space. The treatment unit pictured to the left is our Advantex AX20RT-UV. It meets the highest onsite wastewater treatment standard which gets you the greatest setback and drain field reductions.
The AX20RT installs after the septic tank and contains the recirculation tank, pump tank, UV disinfection, and treatment with only about 20 square feet visible above ground.

Maximum Density - Greatest ROI- Highest Cash flow
If you are in the land development, investment, or home building world you may be missing out on a world of opportunity if you avoid projects without sewer or think conventional septic is the cheapest and therefore best way to go.
We have seen projects double the number of buildable lots, adding several extra million dollars in opportunity to a project just by thinking differently about how to handle the septic.
AQWA and the engineers we work with work within state and local rules and creatively find ways to apply new technology and approaches to unlock the most value.
A few of the ways you should be analyzing a project:
- cost per lot
- deferred cost per lot
- # of buildable lots
- opportunity cost of conventional septic vs engineered solutions
- home siting for maximum ROI
- speed of buildout
